Em junho de 2023 o governo angolano aprovou uma série de medidas que visavam a acautelar o impacto das reformas na vida dos cidadãos, devido à eliminação parcial dos subsídios estatais ao preço do combustível, provocando o aumento do preço do litro da gasolina, que passou de 160 para 300 kwanzas, porem, pouco menos de 7 meses, fonte do Jornal hora H revela que recebeu de pessoas bem posicionadas no xadrez político do País, a informação da retirada dos subsídios aos combustíveis e alteração da tabela de preços actuais.
A fonte revela que para a gasolina, por exemplo, a retirada será por completo, passando o litro a custar 550 kwanzas, mais 250 do que o preço praticado. Quanto ao gasóleo, revela que a retirada da subvenção será parcial, mas que o litro passará a custar 360 kwanzas.
Em alguns postos de abastecimento da cidade capital, vários são os funcionários que garantem já terem recebido tal informação dos seus superiores hierárquicos, embora também existam aqueles que se mostraram inocentes ao alarme.
De recordar que, na primeira alteração do preço do combustível, o litro de gasolina saiu de 160 para 300 kwanzas, o que trouxe grandes consequências no seio das famílias.
Várias províncias angolanas avançaram para manifestações contra o aumento do preço da gasolina, com o sentimento de que o país vai continuar exposto a protestos, devido a reflexos como o encarecimento da comida, dos transportes, da produção e outras consequências
