Segundo a fonte do Jornal Hora H, Dino Matross foi um dos matadores do processo 27 de Maio de 1977, o mesmo ocupava o cargo de destaque no partido dos camaradas.
De acordo com o livro “OS MATADORES DO 27 DE MAIO” de autoria da Fundação 27 de Maio, que o Hora H, teve acesso, Julião Mateus Paulo “Dino Matross”, na altura, membro do Bureau Político e do Comité Central do MPLA, do Conselho da Revolução, Comandante e membro da Direcção Política Nacional das FAPLA, diz o documento.
Participou activamente na perseguição, captura, torturas e fuzilamentos. Após extinção da DISA, criou-se o Ministério da Segurança do Estado (MINSE) onde foi ministro deste órgão.
Como recompensa, foi governador de Benguela e posteriormente Secretário-geral do MPLA, que nesta qualidade recebeu da Fundação 27 de Maio, várias cartas que não tiveram qualquer resposta. Continua cúmplice, afirma a brochura.

A terceira edição do projecto do Movimento dos Estudantes Angolanos (MEA), denominado “reencontro com a história”, vai contar com a presença do político e nacionalista, Julião Mateus Paulo “Dino Matross”, antigo secretário-geral do MPLA e deputado à Assembleia Nacional, no sábado, 1 de Julho de 2023, no auditório da Casa da Juventude, em Viana.
No lançamento do projecto académico “reencontro com a história”, agora denominado “Njila ya Gissabo”, na língua Kimbundu, que em português significa “percurso histórico”, a organização teve como convidado o ex-presidente da UNITA, Isaías Samakuva, encontro que decorreu na Mediateca de Luanda.
Na segunda edição, realizado na Casa da Juventude, em Viana, a organização prestigiou o evento tendo como convidado o histórico nacionalista Ngola Kabango, antigo líder da FNLA e que permitiu a presença do actual e do presidente cessante, Nimi-a-Nsima e Lucas Ngonda, respectivamente, que presenciaram a interacção com os estudantes.
O Movimento dos Estudantes Angolanos (MEA), entende que a história é um elemento que norteia o homem, no tempo e no espaço para que o mesmo consiga viver, e não repetir os erros do passado.
A organização esclarece que “reencontro com a história é um projecto académico apenas de carácter académico, sem qualquer pendor contrário, apesar de que os convidados sejam mais velhos que actuaram ou actuam em vários ramos da nossa vida social”.
