A polícia angolana está dispersar com gás lacrimogéneo um tumulto nas imediações no cemitério de Santa Ana, onde será sepultado hoje o músico kudurista “Nagrelha”.
As cerimónias fúnebres do músico, que morreu na sexta-feira, atraíram uma multidão de milhares de angolanos no que será o maior funeral de sempre em Luanda.
Esta amanhã havia ainda centenas de pessoas no Estádio da Cidadela, onde decorreram as homenagens, e de onde saiu um cortejo a pé, em candongueiros e com milhares de motoqueiros em direcção ao cemitério de Santa Ana.
A grande concentração de pessoas levou a policia a intervir, ouvindo-se disparos, já que apesar de estarem mobilizados 800 agentes, a polícia teve dificuldade em controlar os grandes aglomerados.
O lançamento do gás lacrimogéneo provocou uma debandada e desmaios, com várias pessoas caídas no chão.
Ao longo do cortejo, ouviam-se jovens a chorarem e a gritarem “filho de Zedu”, uma referência ao ex-Presidente angolano José Eduardo dos Santos. Muitos empunhavam vários cartazes e houve quem gritasse “’Nagrelha’ Presidente, João Lourenço chefe de Estado”.
A polícia angolana anunciou ter mobilizado 800 agentes para assegurar o velório, cortejo e funeral do kudurista.
Gelson Caio Manuel Mendes, mais conhecido como “Nagrelha”, o mais célebre cantor do estilo musical kuduro, morreu aos 36 anos em Luanda devido a um cancro no pulmão, segundo o Complexo Hospitalar de Doenças Cardiovasculares D. Alexandre do Nascimento, onde se encontrava internado.
O vice-governador provincial para o setor Político e Social, Manuel Gonçalves, apelou no domingo a todos os cidadãos e aos kuduristas, em particular, para que mantivessem a serenidade, a fim de manter a ordem pública e evitar distúrbios.
Por motivos de segurança, o cemitério está encerrado e exclusivamente reservado ao funeral de “Nagrelha”.
O Secretariado do Bureau Político do Movimento Popular de Libertação de Angola (MPLA), partido em cujos comícios o artista participava com regularidade, deixou uma mensagem de condolências, elogiando a forma ímpar e inigualável de ser e estar de “Nagrelha”, que inspirou e mobilizou muitos artistas a aderirem ao estilo kuduro.
Para o MPLA, o músico notabilizou-se como um dos mais carismáticos integrantes do grupo musical Os Lambas, responsável pela introdução de um novo paradigma no estilo musical kuduro, marcado por composições com apreciável rima e elevada capacidade criativa, que catapultaram o grupo ao patamar dos melhores no estilo em referência.

“Falar da morte de ‘Nagrelha’ é falar de uma dor que trespassa os corações de milhares de angolanos jovens e adultos amantes do kuduro”, referiu, num comunicado.
“Carismático, criativo e excêntrico, filho do povo e um dos símbolos da juventude que não se resigna ante as dificuldades sociais e económicas, ‘Nagrelha’ deixa um grande reportório musical que o imortaliza e mantém presente na memória cultural de Angola”, salientou a UNITA.
