BANCO MUNDIAL DISPONIBILIZA MAIS DE 2 MIL MILHÕES DE DÓLARES
O Banco Mundial (BM) tem disponível 2,7 mil milhões de dólares para investir em projectos de desenvolvimento, em Angola, avançou, nesta quarta-feira (5), em Luanda, o director regional daquela instituição financeira internacional.
Albert Zeufack, que responde por Angola, República Democrática do Congo, Burundi e São Tomé e Príncipe, falava à saída de uma audiência com o Presidente da República, João Lourenço, na Cidade Alta.
Albert Zeufack salientou que o Banco Mundial está “bastante satisfeito” por trabalhar com o Governo angolano, sobretudo, em acções viradas para a implementação de projectos que visam o aumento do abastecimento de água, protecção social, “à semelhança do Kwenda”, e outros direccionados para o sector da Agricultura, onde, como destacou, já existem dois, sendo a MOSAP o mais conhecido.
“Todos estes projectos visam aprimorar e melhorar o padrão de vida das populações angolanas”, realçou o responsável, sublinhando que a carteira de negócios do Banco Mundial nos quatro países que representa cresceu de forma significativa nos últimos cinco anos.
Zeufack revelou que o encontro com o Presidente da República permitiu discutir as “avenidas” para o aprofundamento das relações entre o Grupo Banco Mundial e Angola, bem como a necessidade de aprofundamento das reformas em matérias relacionadas com a diversificação da economia do país, com destaque para a geração de mais empregos para a população angolana.
“Também discutimos, de forma aprofundada, as reformas nas áreas de Energia, Economia Digital, Desenvolvimento do Capital Humano, Educação, Saúde, bem como os serviços de abastecimento de água e energia para a população de Luanda, com realce para as populações das áreas rurais”, realçou.
O Banco Mundial é uma instituição financeira composta por mais de 180 países com o objectivo de destinar empréstimos para nações subdesenvolvidas ou em processo de desenvolvimento.
É o maior e mais conhecido banco de desenvolvimento no mundo, além de possuir o estatuto de observador no Grupo de Desenvolvimento das Nações Unidas e em outros fóruns internacionais, como o G-20 financeiro.
