O Tribunal Supremo negou o pedido de liberdade condicional do arguido Augusto da Silva Tomás, ex-ministro dos Transportes, por ter atingido a metade da pena única de sete anos e um mês de prisão que lhe foi imposta pela prática de vários crimes.
A sentença da 1ª Secção da Câmara Criminal do Tribunal Supremo datada de 27 de Setembro último e assinada pelo juiz de Direito Daniel Modesto Geraldo adianta que esta decisão surge porque a pena “é branda para condutas tão graves” como a assumida pelo antigo gestor público Augusto Tomás.
Segundo o Tribunal Supremo, estas condutas têm impossibilitado Angola e muitos outros países a nível mundial de terem crescimento económico que viabiliza os Executivos de criarem melhores condições de vida aos seus povos”.
