O Presidente da República, João Lourenço inaugurou hoje na cidade de Caxito o novo Hospital Geral do Bengo localizado no Bucula e de igual modo cortou a fita para a abertura da primeira fase da Centralidade Teresa Afonso Gomes na Província do Bengo que comporta oitenta edifícios.

A unidade sanitária denominada reverendo Guilherme Pereira Inglês tem capacidade para 200 camas, 15 áreas clínicas, distribuídas em 24 blocos, seis residências para profissionais e um centro de hemodiálise.
O hospital, que será, igualmente, um centro de formação e investigação científica vai abarcar vários serviços como medicina geral, pediatria e cirurgia.
Segundo as declarações dos responsáveis da obra, nesta primeira fase estão erguidos 80 edifícios, dos quais 72 abrigam lojas e 486 habitações, sendo oito delas moradias térreas, bem como postos de saúde, de polícia e uma escola primária de 24 salas de aulas.
Na segunda, prevê-se a construção de mais 78 edifícios de diferentes tipologias, totalizando mil habitações, entre os quais 946 apartamentos, 30 moradias térreas.
