O Presidente da República, João Lourenço, será homenageado no próximo dia 24 de Agosto, na cidade de Atlantic City, New Jersey, Estados Unidos da América (EUA), com o prestigiado “Prémio Humanitário Águia da Liberdade”, pela liderança visionária na criação de um programa de treino em segurança cibernética para a juventude angolana.
A cerimónia de reconhecimento ao feito do Chefe de Estado, numa iniciativa da empresa norte-americana RX5, vai decorrer no Resorts Hotel Casino e será apresentada por membros honorários norte-americanos.
A iniciativa visa, segundo a organização do evento, destacar os avanços significativos ocorridos em Angola, com realce para governação democrática em prol do progresso económico, bem como servir para fortalecer a parceria entre Angola e os EUA, funcionando, no futuro, como inspiração para outras nações.
A atribuição do prémio justifica-se, ainda, pelo compromisso do Presidente João Lourenço a favor do desenvolvimento económico, criação de emprego e reforma tecnológica, que contribuirá para tornar Angola numa potência regional em cibersegurança e tecnologias de informação, através da construção de novas parcerias de tecnologia de segurança cibernética com diversos parceiros nos Estados Unidos. O prestigiado Prémio “Águia da Liberdade” foi criado como reconhecimento por grandes e extraordinárioas actos humanitários de boa vontade para a paz global. Estes actos são, normalmente, em prol da Educação, modernização de treinos para a juventude, alimentação e cuidados de saúde das comunidades em estado de emergência, bem como para a inclusão equitativa da diversidade.

Hatch, o governador norte-americano Albert Bryan, embaixador americano Sigmund Rogich, secretário de Gabinete dos Estados Unidos, Ben Carson, Joseph Weinberg, físico norte-americano, e ao governador de Porto Rico, Pedro Pierluisi, pelos actos humanitários extraordinários.
Entre as figuras convidadas para o evento de Agosto, em New Jersey, destacam-se o procurador da Atlantic City, William Reynolds, o senador norte-americano Corey Booker, o governador da cidade de Maryland, Wes Moore, o senador Vince Polistina, diplomatas, membros do Congresso e representantes de organizações americanas e internacionais, como o co-fundador da Apple, Steve Wosniak.

Menos de uma semana após a apresentação oficial das cartas credenciais ao Presidente Joe Biden, o embaixador Agostinho Van-Dúnem começou a trabalhar em prol do novo projecto nacional de cibersegurança, com reuniões para criar uma parceria com a empresa americana RX5, na sua iniciativa chamada Cyberunity.www.cyberunity.tech.
De acordo com um comunicado enviado ao Jornal de Angola, durante a reunião, decorrida na Embaixada de Angola, em Washington DC, discutiu-se a implementação de um programa de formação e certificação de quadros angolanos em cibersegurança com o mais seguro e moderno método que existe actualmente, o “Zero Trust”, inventado nos Estados Unidos.
Durante o encontro debateu-se, igualmente, o futuro da segurança cibernética em Angola, com o objectivo de explorar parcerias estratégicas proactivas entre os Estados Unidos e Angola, no sentido de modernizar as práticas de segurança cibernética no país.
“Numa era dominada pela rápida transformação digital, adoptar medidas robustas de cibersegurança é agora a grande prioridade”, lê-se no documento, em que se destaca a parceria com os Estados Unidos. “Tendo África uma população de 1,4 biliões de pessoas, com mais de metade com idade inferior a 30 anos, este programa de colaboração entre os EUA e Angola irá plantar a semente certa para o desenvolvimento futuro de um potencial económico digital prometedor para Angola e para África”, refere.
Angola considera que esta proposta de parceria reforçará a posição do país como líder regional africano em cibersegurança e contribuirá para o país estabelecer-se como um “hub digital confiável e seguro”, capaz de atrair investimento estrangeiro e estimular o crescimento económico. Acrescenta que isso, por sua vez, irá contribuir para o desenvolvimento global e prosperidade do país, com a geração de empregos de qualidade para a população.
O Presidente João Lourenço anunciou, recentemente, durante a abertura da 3ª edição da ANGOTIC’2023, planos para a instalação de uma Academia de Cibersegurança em Angola. A Academia tem como objectivo assegurar um serviço de telecomunicações e tecnologias de informação seguro e robusto, que defenda os utilizadores no país. O Presidente acrescentou ainda que foram também tomadas medidas para promover o uso livre, seguro e eficiente do ciberespaço por entidades públicas e privadas.
No campo da inovação, destacou o surgimento de pequenas empresas ou startups digitais muito dinâmicas e bem-sucedidas, o que, na sua opinião, prova a força do ecossistema do empreendedorismo juvenil angolano, que já recebeu vários prémios internacionais pelo grau de inovação e impacto alcançado na economia.

Reconhecendo este facto, o presidente e CEO da RX5, Jimmy Whitehead, transmitiu a sua visão para esta parceria e apresentou soluções para que os Presidentes Joe Biden e João Lourenço encontrem uma solução conjunta bem-sucedida, com o objectivo de estabelecer uma parceria abrangente entre os EUA e Angola no domínio da cibersegurança. A iniciativa foi apelidada de “Cyber Unity” e traduz-se num projecto que traz a solução chave para um problema grave e que o Chefe de Estado angolano pretende resolver.
Nesta reunião, Jimmy Whitehead, veterano da Marinha Americana e ex-funcionário da Casa Branca, mostrou-se disposto a começar o trabalho com Angola. “Vamos levar as melhores práticas de segurança cibernética da América para Angola e ajudar a fortalecer as suas infra-estruturas críticas, como sejam as instituições financeiras, hospitais e instalações de saúde.
