CARRINHO E GEMCORP AVANÇAM COM PROPOSTAS PARA COMPRA DOS 48,1% DO BPI NO BFA
Segundo a fonte do Hora H, a gigante nacional Carrinho e a Gemcorp, gestora de fundos com sede no Reino Unido, apresentaram propostas para a aquisição da posição de 48,1% que o Banco Português de Investimento (BPI) tem no Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA).
O banco liderado pelo português João Pedro Oliveira e Costa e detido pelos espanhóis do Caixa Bank pretende vender o aludido activo por, pelo menos, 411 milhões de euros, anunciou o português Jornal de Notícias.
O grupo angolano Carrinho e a Gemcorp já entraram numa segunda fase de negociação e terão de apresentar as ofertas finais de compra durante Julho próximo, mês em que será escolhido o vencedor.
Esta já é a terceira tentativa, ao fim de cinco anos, que o BPI faz para vender a sua participação no BFA, por pressão do Banco Central Europeu (BCE), que não dá equivalência bancária a Angola, ou seja, a supervisão do Banco Nacional de Angola (BNA) não é reconhecida pelo BCE e isso obriga o BPI a constituir provisões.
O BFA tem activos totais de cinco mil milhões de euros (5,3 milhões USD), 2,6 milhões de clientes e a sua quota de mercado em depósitos esteve na ordem dos 14,5% em Novembro último.
Para esta operação, o BPI mandatou a Exotix, uma boutique financeira especializada em operações de fusão e aquisição em África, para concretizar a operação.
