MIREX E MPLA LAMENTAM A MORTE DO EMBAIXADOR FILIPE MONIMAMBO
O Ministério das Relações Exteriores lamentou, quarta-feira, a morte do embaixador Filipe Felisberto Monimambo, ocorrida na noite de terça-feira, por doença.
Em nota a que o Jornal de Angola teve acesso, o MIREX endereça, em nome de todos os diplomatas e funcionários da instituição, à família enlutada as mais sentidas condolências e votos de profundo pesar.
Numa outra nota, a direcção do MPLA refere que foi com “profunda dor e consternação que tomou conhecimento do falecimento do camarada Filipe Felisberto Monimambo, também conhecido por Spartacus”.
Nascido em Maquela do Zombo, província do Uíge, aos 18 de Outubro de 1939, Felisberto Monimambo foi embaixador de Angola na República Democrática do Congo (RDC) e chefe da Missão Diplomática no Zimbabwe, Roménia, Grécia e Montenegro.
Ainda muito jovem, ingressou no MPLA, em Junho de 1960, e, em Dezembro de 1961, integrou o grupo de cerca de duas dezenas de angolanos dirigidos por José Mendes de Carvalho “Hoji ya Henda” que a direcção do MPLA enviou ao Ghana para frequentar um curso militar no campo de Mankronga.
Em Março de 1962, integrando o grupo atrás referido, Monimambo seguiu para Marrocos, com vista a melhorar a formação militar.
A direcção do MPLA assinala que no decurso da Luta de Libertação Nacional, Monimambo ocupou elevadas funções, com destaque para os cargos de membro do Comité Director do MPLA e comandante da Frente Leste.
Depois da Conferência Inter-Regional de militantes, realizada em Setembro de 1974, no Moxico, nas margens do Rio Lundoji, na III Região Político-Militar do MPLA, Monimambo frequentou com distinção o Curso de Arte Operativa e Estratégia Militar, numa conceituada Academia Militar da ex-Jugoslávia.
No período pós-Independência, exerceu relevantes funções militares, destacando-se as de chefe da Direcção de Operações do Estado Maior-General das FAPLA e comandante da 4ª Região Militar. Na hierarquia partidária, Felisberto Monimambo foi membro do Comité Central do MPLA.

O embaixador de Angola na RDC, Miguel da Costa, considerou que o diplomata Filipe Felisberto Monimambo “foi um homem de trato fácil e um grande amigo da RDC”, onde desempenhou um “papel fundamental e estratégico” como embaixador, ajudando a relançar a imagem do nosso país.
Numa mensagem de condolências, Miguel da Costa realça o papel de Filipe Monimambo no aprofundamento das relações de amizade e cooperação entre os povos dos dois países, particularmente de 1990 a 1998, período em que esteve a chefiar a Missão Diplomática de Angola na RDC.
“Nesta hora de dor e tristeza, em meu nome e de todos os diplomatas, funcionários de recrutamento local e membros da comunidade angolana na RDC, expresso à família enlutada as sentidas condolências e votos de profundo pesar”, lê-se na mensagem do embaixador Miguel da Costa.
