O Bureau Político do Comité Central do MPLA expressou, nesta quarta-feira, em nome de todos os seus militantes, simpatizantes e amigos, votos de felicidades às mulheres de todo o mundo, em especial as angolanas.
Numa declaração em alusão ao 8 de Março, Dia Internacional da Mulher, O MPLA anseia que, o espírito que norteou a consagração deste dia, continue presente na luta das mulheres pela igualdade do gênero e iguais oportunidades sócio-profissionais. “Oficialmente instituído pela Organização das Nações Unidas, na década de 1970, o Dia Internacional da Mulher encerra um simbolismo que a História da Humanidade jamais esquecerá, pois o sentido inicial da sua luta, marcada pelos protestos por melhores condições laborais, mantêm-se válido ao longo do tempo, actualizado com as aspirações justas e permanentes de luta contra o machismo e todas as manifestações de violência”, lê-se na nota. Na mensagem, o Bureau Político do MPLA apela a toda sociedade angolana, no sentido de comemorar a data com alto sentido de reflexão em torno da importância da mulher na sociedade, fundamentalmente na perspectiva de que sejam apoiadas todas as acções de mobilização feminina que visam combater as desigualdades que as mulheres ainda sofrem, bem como garantir a aprovação e a aplicação de um quadro legal que penalize fortemente a violência baseada no género.
