ELEIÇÕES – BATATA QUENTE NA CNE: MANICO PEDE AJUDA À PGR
Luanda – O presidente da CNE, Manuel Pereira da Silva, exortou esta terça-feira, em Luanda, na abertura da formação cívica eleitoral para magistrados do Ministério Público, a que os procuradores apliquem os mecanismos legais a todos os cidadãos eleitores que, após cumprirem o direito de voto, não regressarem a casa e permanecerem nas assembleias de voto.
A CNE considera uma violação da lei o apelo da sociedade civil e da oposição que tem incentivado os eleitores a permanecerem nas assembleias de voto após a votação no dia 24 de Agosto.
“Vossas excelências terão os mecanismos de fazer cumprir a lei. Os agentes eleitorais devem obediência à Constituição e à Lei”, disse Manuel Pereira da Silva, presidente da CNE, na abertura da formação cívica eleitoral dos magistrados do Ministério Público, que teve início esta manhã em Luanda.
O procurador-geral em exercício, Luís de Assunção Pedro da Mota Liz, apelou aos magistrados do Ministério Público a que tenham como prioridade de intervenção na sua acção os crimes eleitorais nesta fase.
O também vice-procurador-geral da República pediu aos magistrados uma reação pronta nas situações em que forem registados casos de práticas que reflictam crimes eleitorais.
Segundo Mota Liz, a PGR monitoriza o País em relação às práticas de determinados crimes eleitorais, tendo garantido que os que mais se destacam são os furtos de bandeiras e a queima de material de propaganda de partidos opostos.
“Para que as penas cumpram a sua função preventiva, no plano geral e especial, a resposta deve ser célere”, disse Mota Liz, assegurando que “o que se quer, no final, é ordem e estabilidade no exercício do voto”.
Segundo o vice-procurador-geral, a PGR estará atenta às práticas ilícitas que possam reflectir crimes eleitorais.
De salientar que a sociedade civil e a oposição têm apelado a que os cidadãos não abandonem as assembleias de voto no dia das eleições gerais, de modo a exigir a contagem dos votos e a publicação dos resultados nos locais da votação, como forma de prevenir uma eventual fraude eleitoral.
Este apelo, conforme a CNE, viola a Lei Eleitoral e constitui crime, daí, desencorajar os cidadãos eleitores a obedecer. NJ
