ELEIÇÕES: UNITA REAFIRMA MPLA QUERER “MANTER PODER A QUALQUER CUSTO”
Luanda – O líder da UNITA reiterou hoje ter mantido encontros com dirigentes do MPLA para abordar uma eventual transição pós-eleitoral e criticou os adversários por defender ilegalidades e ameaçar com instabilidade para se manter no poder.
Adalberto da Costa Júnior comentava, em declarações à Lusa, a conferência de imprensa de segunda-feira em que o secretário do MPLA para os assuntos políticos e eleitorais, João “Jú” Martins, em que desmentia a existência de negociações e apelidou o líder da UNITA de “lunático” por pensar em vencer as eleições.
“Agora vem dizer que não abordamos nada disto? Então falamos de quê durante três horas e meia”, questionou, referindo-se ao encontro que manteve com dirigentes da UNITA no qual, segundo João Martins, não foi abordado o tema da transição.
Para Adalberto da Costa Júnior, a reacção do MPLA deveu-se aos contactos que manteve no sábado no Cazenga, um dos municípios mais populosos e densamente povoados de Luanda, depois da UNITA e outros partidos da oposição angolana serem forçados a cancelar uma marcha a favor da transparência e legalidade do processo eleitoral por recomendação do governo provincial de Luanda.
“Sentiram-se expostos” disse o dirigente do partido do Galo Negro manifestando-se “feliz pela intervenção de João Martins.
Durante o seu contacto com a população, segundo o seu relato, Adalberto da Costa Júnior defendeu o cumprimento das leis eleitorais, insistiu na existência de dolo devido às irregularidades dos cadernos eleitorais e reafirmou ter havido contactos para negociar a transição com o MPLA.
“Eu quis partilhar com os angolanos que do lado da direcção da UNITA tem havido pontes para a transição, pontes para o diálogo”, sublinhou.
“Penso que quantos mais encontros, quanto mais diálogos houver, melhor para o país, numa democracia as alternâncias ocorrem”, salientou, exortando o MPLA a “sair desse pensamento, por que Angola não é uma propriedade privada do MPLA”.
Lamentou ainda que João Martins tenha dito que algumas das acções que a UNITA estava a organizar teriam um “carácter subversivo” e que a “subversão foi vencida a 22 de fevereiro de 2002”, numa alusão à morte em combate de Jonas Savimbi, fundador daquele partido, o maior da oposição angolana e que durante quase 30 anos travou uma guerra contra as forças governamentais apoiadas pelo MPLA.
“Os actos de campanha de um partido não são atentados contra a segurança do Estado”, respondeu Adalberto da Costa Júnior, considerando que ao considerar que os actos do presidente da UNITA são um atentado contra a democracia, o dirigente do MPLA “ajudou as pessoas a perceber que está na altura de o MPLA ir para casa, com urgência”.
Adalberto da Costa Júnior acusou ainda o partido que governa Angola desde a independência, em 1975, de querer manter o poder a qualquer custo.
“Ele (Jú Martins) disse que enquanto estivessem aqui não iríamos ganhar por que foram eles que ganharam a guerra. Então o problema não é com a UNITA, não é com Adalberto, é com o povo”, afirmou, sublinhando que “o povo está atento e está maduro”.
O presidente da UNITA disse à Lusa que “o MPLA defende ilegalidades para ficar no poder e ameaça com instabilidade”.
Questionado sobre se sentiu ameaçado, diz que está preparado para isso.
“Não vou dar troco às cascas de banana. O MPLA tem tido ao longo dos anos o hábito de provocar, mas não vai ter resposta com actos de violência e, por isso, estão a ficar nervosos”, considerou o dirigente político.
“Assim o povo fica a saber que o MPLA tem um programa de manutenção do poder a qualquer custo”, realçou.
João Martins disse, na segunda-feira, que foi abordado pelo presidente do grupo parlamentar do MPLA, no sentido de se disponibilizar para um encontro com o presidente da UNITA, do qual deu nota ao presidente do partido (João Lourenço, também Presidente da República de Angola e que se recandidata ao cargo) e que se realizou em 27 de maio, num hotel de Luanda.
Ao longo de três horas e meia, falou-se de problemas do momento político actual, nomeadamente as listas dos eleitores e o tratamento da base de dados, bem como visibilidade dada pela imprensa pública à UNITA, mas não se abordaram questões relativas à transição.
“Qual transição, qual negócio”, sublinhou Martins, acrescentando que, para tratar de assuntos dessa natureza, teriam de ser mandatados pela direcção do partido, e não apenas pelo seu líder, já que “o poder se conquista, não se negoceia”.
No encontro, foi também transmitido ao presidente da UNITA que algumas das acções que estava a organizar poderiam ter “um carácter subversivo” e que “a subversão foi vencida a 22 de fevereiro de 2002 [quando o líder e fundador da UNITA, Jonas Savimbi foi morto em combate pelo exército angolano] e foi vencida pelo Estado angolano”.
“Por isso, alertámos que não era avisado ele deixar que algum tipo de acções pudesse ter esse cunho, porque aí não era o MPLA que iria contender com a UNITA, e sim o Estado angolano com as suas instituições”, frisou.
“Como o fez em fevereiro de 2002, também o faria agora se continuarem a ser realizadas acções que perigam a estabilidade, a ordem pública, fora da matriz da contenda política”, vincou o mesmo responsável.
